About these terms

The website is operated by MaskedWaffle Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17507750, with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX ("MaskedWaffle", "we" or "us").

By creating or signing in to an account you agree to these terms and confirm that you are 18 or over. You must also accept the Artist Terms before submitting artwork. The Privacy Policy explains how we use your information. Patreon has its own terms for its service.

Using the site

Use the site lawfully and give accurate information. Do not interfere with its operation or security, attempt unauthorised access, impersonate anyone, scrape private areas, evade submission limits, or place an unreasonable load on the service. You are responsible for activity through your Patreon account; tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used it.

Patreon memberships

Memberships are bought, billed, cancelled and refunded through Patreon under Patreon's terms. We do not take payments on this website or hold your payment details. Your tier gives you the submission formats and allowances described for the current cycle, based on the membership status Patreon reports to us; unused allowances do not carry over. Cancelling or changing a tier affects future portal access but does not withdraw a licence you have already granted. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Submissions and moderation

A tier gives access to submission tools, not a guarantee of acceptance, release or promotion. We may decline, remove or ask for changes to submissions for quality, legal, rights, safety, platform or project-fit reasons, and will show a reason where practical. We may suspend portal access where reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect the service or other people, or comply with the law.

Our content and availability

The MaskedWaffle name, logos, website, software and game material are protected by intellectual property law and may not be copied or commercially exploited without our permission, except where the law allows. Artists keep ownership of their artwork. We may change, maintain or discontinue site features and do not promise uninterrupted access, although this does not remove obligations we owe for a paid service. Links to Patreon and social platforms lead to services we do not control.

Responsibility

We are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss caused by your breach, by events outside our reasonable control, or by services we do not operate. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes, law and contact

We may update these terms for legal, security or service reasons. The date above shows the current version, and you will be asked to accept material changes at your next sign-in. A change does not alter the licence for artwork you have already submitted unless you agree or the law requires it.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections of the law where you live.
